The 13th Annual Iris Gala Evening was held on May 9, 2009 with 225 guests in attendance. The guests enjoyed a fabulous dinner in the beautiful rural setting at The Gates on Roblin. The evening was hosted by CJOB reporter Richard Cloutier. The special guest speaker was Judge Ted Ormston, Chair of the Advisory Committee for Mental Health and the Law, Mental Health Commission of Canada. Also in attendance was the Honourable Kerri Irvin-Ross, Minister responsible for Healthy Living who brought greetings on behalf of the provincial government. Prior to the Ron Paley Orchestra starting, five 2009 Awards were presented.

The Journey of Hope Award went to Jean and Gerald Stople – in honour of their exemplary role model as advocates for and avid supporters of the Manitoba Schizophrenia Society.
