O-5 COVID Puppy

O-5 COVID Puppy

April 6, 2021

What was I thinking back on August 22, 2020, when I brought home a new, 8 week old puppy which I named “Covi” as the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic was just ending? I had been working from home since March 16, 2020, and we had just lost our precious Zeus, a black cat of 17 years on August 7, 2020. Not only did we bring home a puppy on August 22, we also brought home a 7 week old black kitten, which was named Zephyr. Little did we know that the second wave was just around the corner, and even a third wave that would hit hard the spring of 2021. Times were not easy. I lost my father to COVID-19 on February 10, 2021, while he resided in a personal care home. It was my puppy that kept me alive and provided the unconditional love that I needed.
