Working with the Victoria General Hospital Foundation, the Consultant, HTFC, developed an outdoor space on the south end of the Victoria General Hospital (VGH) grounds that engages all the senses. The design stimulates physical and emotional renewal for users of every age and ability throughout each day and each season. The garden is divided into active, social and secluded public spaces surrounded by five lush healing gardens. The active elements in the garden include a sinuous water wall, a fountain head waterfall, a reflecting pool, an outdoor fireplace, a shade pavilion eating area and a light sculpture that is also a children’s play area. The space is furnished with comfortable custom wood seating, ambient lighting, and an ornamental screen that doubles as a donor wall.
